Open your video intercom with your phone, without replacing the monitor
You don't need to buy a new WiFi video intercom to open the building door from your phone. SoundKey connects to the door-release button on the monitor you already have and presses it when someone rings.
Two ways to open the building door from your phone
Replace the monitor with a WiFi one
Fermax, Golmar and Tegui sell monitors with an app. They cost between €240 and €375, you need to call an installer and, if the building is 2-wire, the monitor has to be from the same system. On the plus side, you can see the camera on your phone.
Add SoundKey to the monitor you have
Two wires to the door-release button and you're done. Nothing changes in the building or on the monitor. You can't see the camera on your phone, but the door opens when someone rings, if you've switched it on or there's a booking.
Which video intercoms it works with
Those with a physical button to open the building door, one that goes down when you press it: Fermax Loft, Citymax, VDS and Duox (Veo, Veo-XS), Tegui Serie 7 and Serie 8, Golmar Nexa, T-line, Plus and G2+, Comelit Simplebus, Urmet 2Voice… It doesn't matter whether they're analogue or 2-wire.
Monitors with a touch screen or touch buttons (Fermax Smile, Bticino Classe 300, Golmar ART 7) are in development. IP monitors that only open from their own app are not compatible.
Questions about video intercoms
Is a WiFi video intercom worth it?
If you want to see the door camera on your phone, yes. If what you need is to let someone in while you're out (guests, deliveries, family), SoundKey does that with the video intercom you already have, with no building work and for much less.
Will I see the video intercom picture on my phone?
No. SoundKey opens the door and every opening is logged in the app, but it doesn't transmit the camera image.
Does the monitor keep working as before?
Yes. You can keep answering and opening from the monitor as usual. SoundKey only presses the button at the times you've authorised.
